Notophyllum laciniatum Willey, 1905 View in CoL
Notophyllum laciniatum Willey, 1905: 263 View in CoL , pl. 3, gures 61, 62.
Notophyllum splendens: Fauvel, 1953: 126 View in CoL , gure 60c. Not Notophyllum splendens (Schmarda, 1861) View in CoL .
Remarks. Willey described this taxon from Sri Lanka. Unfortunately, there seems to be no extant type material. From the original description we conclude that it is a Notophyllum , but insu cient information is available to specify closer relationships. Fauvel (1953) treated N. laciniatum as a junior synonym of N. splendens (Schmarda, 1861) , but the synonymy was based solely on number of the lobes of nuchal organs, and we consider this as unreliable. We regard Willey’s description as referring to a Notophyllum incertae sedis.
