Current name: Malpighia linearis Jacq. (Malpighiaceae).

Note: A superfluous name for M. linearis Jacq. (1760), with which it is therefore homotypic, and not typified by a Browne collection (588.7, LINN) as suggested by Anderson (in Howard, Fl. Lesser Antilles 4: 619. 1988).
