Description. FEMALE (holotype and paratypes). Body length 330–450 µm (dry specimens) or 470–530 µm (slide-mounted specimens). Body mostly brown to dark brown except borders of axilla, sides of scutellum, and sometimes dorsellum light brown; base of gaster yellow to light brown. Appendages light brown.

Vertex transversely striate, with a few short setae.

Antenna ( Figs 76–79 ) with short setae. Scape about 5.0 x as long as wide; pedicel much longer than F1; funicle normally 6–segmented ( Fig. 76 ) but often 5–segmented due to a fusion of any two neighboring funicular segments ( Figs 77–79 ) or a loss of one of the funicular segments, usually of F3 or perhaps of F4); F1–F5 slightly longer than wide or sometimes about as long as wide, F6 distinctly longer than wide; when funicle 6– segmented, F1–F5 subequal in length (F3 often the shortest) and each much shorter than F6; F1–F5 without longitudinal sensilla, F6 with 1 longitudinal sensillum; clava 3.5–3.9 x as long as wide, with 5 longitudinal sensilla.

Mesosoma. Each lobe of pronotum with several setae. Mesoscutum much wider than long, its midlobe finely longitudinally striate and with 1 pair of setae. Scutellum about as long as mesoscutum, posterior scutel- lum finely longitudinally striate. Dorsellum broadly angulate or slightly rounded posteriorly.

Wings. Forewing ( Fig. 80 ) 3.9–4.3 x as long as wide; blade almost hyaline or slightly infumate, more so behind venation, with a few scattered setae (leaving bare areas) mostly in the distal 1/2; longest marginal cilia 1.5–1.7 x greatest width of wing. Hind wing 13–15 x as long as wide, shorter than forewing; blade slightly infumate, more so distally; longest marginal cilia about 4.0 x greatest wing width.

Metasoma. Petiole wider than long. Gaster a little longer than mesosoma; ovipositor 3/5–7/10 length of gaster, usually not exserted beyond apical gastral tergum (rarely barely exserted) and not exserted beyond apex of hypopygium, 1.3–1.4 x length of metatibia.

Measurements of holotype (in µm). Body 515; mesosoma 197; gaster 212; ovipositor 142. Antenna: scape (including radicle) 78; pedicel 35; F1 13; F2 16; F3 12; F4 16; F5 16; F6 31; clava 98. Forewing 376:96; longest marginal cilia 158. Hind wing 332:24; longest marginal cilia 97.

MALE (paratype). Body length 455 µm. Similar to female except for the normal sexually dimorphic features such as antenna, genitalia, and the following. Antenna (of the accidentally destroyed specimen, reared in USA, Missouri, Boone Co., Columbia , University of Missouri Campus on 2.ix.2003 by B. Puttler from eggs of the hawthorn lace bug on hawthorn; flagella of both antennae of the paratype are missing) with flagellum 10–segmented, all flagellomeres more or less subequal in length. Forewing 4.0 x as long as wide; longest marginal cilia 1.7–1.8 x greatest forewing width. Gaster a little shorter than mesosoma .

Etymology. The specific name (a noun in apposition) stands for “a bug killer” in Russian.

Diagnosis. Member of the flavovarius species group. The midlobe of the mesoscutum of E. (E.) klopomor is uniformly colored (dark brown) in contrast to the Neotropical E. (E.) tingitiphagus , to which this new species is most similar; the midlobe of mesoscutum of the latter has a distinct, narrow, transverse, submedian, yellow or light brown stripe. Additionally, the distal funicular segment of the female antenna (usually F6 but sometimes F5, when funicle 5–segmented) of E. (E.) klopomor has only 1 longitudinal sensillum (2 such sensilla in E. (E.) tingitiphagus ). Both species have a 10–segmented flagellum of the male antenna.

Hosts. Tingidae : Corythucha arcuata (Say) , C. ciliata (Say) , C. cydoniae (Fitch) , C. floridana Heidemann , C. marmorata (Uhler) , and C. pergandei Heidemann ( Horn et al. 1979; Horn et al. 1983; Triapitsyn 2003; Puttler et al. 2007).
