Type locality. Waiorongamai [sic, Waiorongomai].

Broun number: 2820.

Type material examined. 1 ex. Holotype (NHM): card-mounted, genitalia mounted on glass slide pinned together with the specimen, “Holo- \ type” [round label with red border], “2820” [in Broun’s hand], “Waiorongamai“ [in Broun’s hand], New Zealand. [red underline] \ Broun Coll. \ Brit. Mus. \ 1922-482.”, “ Cyphon \ M c Kerrowi” [in Broun’s hand], “Holotype \ Cyphon mackerrowi \ Broun \ det. T. Nyholm 1981” [in Nyholm’s hand].

Remarks. The species was collected from Waiorongomai, 4 miles from Te Aroha (Broun 1895). There is no indication of number of specimens examined in the original description. According to Nyholm (2000) this species belongs to an undescribed genus.
