Hypatima loxosaris ( Meyrick, 1918) — Janse 1949: 45.
Material examined. 1♂, AM 163 , South Africa, Gauteng, Krokodilspruit , 25°35’12,5”S 28° 25’42,9”E (A. & I. Sharp) (gen. slide 195/18, O. Bidzilya) ( HSS) GoogleMaps .
Biology. The larva was observed feeding on Dichrostachys cinerea (Fabaceae) in late February. Adult emerged 7.iii ( Staude et al. 2020: 55). First host-plant record for this species.
Distribution. South Africa, Mozambique ( Meyrick 1918; Janse 1949: 45).
Remarks. The male genitalia of H. loxosaris ( Fig. 11 View FIGURE 11 ) do not match those of the genus Hypatima Hübner, 1825 . The generic assignment of the species needs to be appraised in the context of a revision.
