Type Locality: Australia, Northern Territory, Port Essington.
Vernacular Names: Northern Quoll.
Synonyms: Dasyurus exilis Thomas 1909 ; Dasyurus nesaeus Thomas 1926 ; Dasyurus predator Thomas 1926 ; Dasyurus quoll (Zimmermann 1783) .
Distribution: Australia: N Northern Territory, N and NE Queensland, and N Western Australia.
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (nt). Common.
Discussion: Sometimes assigned to Satanellus . The original name Mustela quoll Zimmermann, 1783 , was suppressed under Article 80 of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature ( International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature, 1999), now correctly Dasyurus hallucatus .
