Subgenus Derlethina Sartori View in CoL View at ENA in Sartori et al. 2008
( Figs 137–161 View FIGURES 137–140 View FIGURES 141–144 View FIGURES 145–150 View FIGURES 151–156 View FIGURES 157–161 )
Genus Derlethina Sartori View in CoL in Sartori, Peters & Hubbard 2008: 44 View Cited Treatment .
Subgenus Derlethina: Kluge 2023 View in CoL .
Type species: Derlethina eloisae Sartori in Sartori, Peters & Hubbard 2008.
Diagnosis. Tergalii II–IV (3 pairs) present; tergalius III with ventral lobe and with cleft on dorsal lobe; tergalius IV without ventral lobe, either with cleft on dorsal lobe ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 1–19 ), or without it; tergalii V–VI absent ( Figs 17–19 View FIGURES 1–19 ). Differs from all other subgenera by loss of tergalii V–VI.
Indian representatives. One species, Teloganodes (Derlethina) tamiraparaniae (Selvakumar et al. in Selvakumar et al. 2014)
Comment. The genus Derlethina , besides the absence of the fifth pair of tergalii, was said to differ from the genera Teloganodes and Dudgeodes by two imaginal characters:
́Hind wing minute with costal process acute and located almost at apex of wing; a single simple longitudinal vein» ( Sartori et al. 2008: 44, fig. 15). Actually hind protoptera of T. (D.) tamiraparaniae demonstrate the shape and venation usual for other taxa of Teloganodes , with costal process located near middle and with more than one vein ( Figs 155–156 View FIGURES 151–156 ). The same is true for the type species, T. (Derlethina) eloisae ( Kluge 2023: fig. 3).
́The absence of crossvein in the pterostigmatic area of the forewing» ( Sartori et al. 2008: 44, fig. 14). Actually in T. (D.) tamiraparaniae crossveins in pterostigmatic area are present both on imaginal wings ( Fig. 152 View FIGURES 151–156 ) and on larval protoptera ( Figs 153–154 View FIGURES 151–156 ). The same is true for protoptera of the type species, T. (Derlethina) eloisae ( Kluge 2023: fig. 2).
