Description. Female. Body length 3.2–7.5 mm; fore wing length 2.3–4.9 mm.
Head width (dorsal view) 1.3–1.4 (1.15–1.25 in small specimens) × its median length, 1.1–1.2 × width of mesoscutum. Head behind eyes (dorsal view) weakly widened in anterior half, weakly roundly narrowed in posterior half. Transverse diameter of eye (dorsal view) 1.3–1.5 (1.2–1.3 in small specimens) × longer than temple. Ocelli medium-sized, arranged in triangle with base 1.2–1.3 × its sides. POL 2.0–2.5 × Od, 1.0–1.3 (rarely 1.5) × OOL. Vertex without lateral tubercles opposite posterior ocelli. Eye 1.10–1.15 × as high as broad. Malar space 0.3– 0.4 × height of eye, 0.5–0.7 × basal width of mandible. Face width 0.85–0.95 × height of eye and 1.2–1.5 × height of face and clypeus combined. Clypeus convex, without lower flange. Hypoclypeal depression width 0.5–0.8 × distance from edge of depression to eye, 0.3–0.4 × width of face. Length of maxillary palpus 1.3–1.5 × head height (without mandible). Head below eyes (front view) strongly and weakly-roundly narrowed.
Antenna setiform, more than 36-segmented (apical segments missing), but in small specimens 28–34- segmented. Scape 1.1–1.3 × longer than its maximum width, 2.0–2.5 × longer than pedicel. First flagellar segment 3.2–3.6 × longer than its maximum width in basal half, 1.1–1.2 × longer than second segment; second segment 4.5– 5.0 × longer than its apical width. Submedian segments 3.7–4.3 × longer than their width. Penultimate segment 3.8–4.5 × longer than wide, 0.8 × as long as apical segment; the latter with apical spine.
Mesosoma. Length 2.2–2.3 × its height. Pronotal neck with fine and sinuate pronotal carina, in small specimen carina indistinct. Median lobe of mesoscutum with shallow or very shallow median furrow. Notauli rather deep anteriorly, fused medially and following as one wide and shallow furrow towards posterior margin of mesoscutum, densely and coarsely crenulate-rugose in anterior half and finely rugulose-granulate and with distinct median long carina in posterior half. Prescutellar depression shallow, crenulate or crenuate-rugose and sometimes with very fine granulation between rugae, medially 0.2–0.3 × as long as scutellum. Scutellum with fine or distinct lateral carinae. Metanotum with two short and subparallel carinae and one distinct and short median carinae (dorsal view); with short or very short, wide and rounded metanotal tooth (lateral view). Sternaulus rather deep, finely rugulose with dense granulation at least partly. Metapleural flange without pubescence along posterior margin.
Wings. Fore wing 3.4–4.0 × longer than its maximum width. Pterostigma 4.0–5.0 × longer than width. Metacarp 0.85–1.05 × as long as pterostigma. Second radial abscissa 0.8–1.1 (rarely 1.3–1.5) × longer than first abscissa, 0.10–0.18 × as long as the straight third abscissa, 0.3–0.5 × as long as first radiomedial vein. Second radiomedial cell 1.6–2.0 × longer than its maximum width, 0.5–0.6 × as long as brachial cell. First medial abscissa sinuate. Mediocubital vein distinctly sinuate. Recurrent vein postfurcal. Nervulus weakly inclivous (directed toward apex posteriorly); distance from nervulus to basal vein 1.1–2.0 (rarely 0.5–0.8) × nervulus length. Brachial cell narrow, long, withoud median widening. Hind wing 4.4–5.5 × longer than maximum width. First abscissa of mediocubital vein 0.3–0.5 × as long as second abscissa. Second mediocubital abscissa submedially with distinct tubercle (weak or very weak in small specimens) and sometimes with additional unsclerotised oblique vein united this tubercle with second abscissa of costal vein. Medial cell with constriction submedially, 8.5–12.3 × longer than wide, 0.40–0.45 × as long as wing. Recurrent vein weakly antefurcal or postfurcal, unsclerotized, but partly pigmented.

Legs. Fore tibia with seven-ten rather thick spines arranged in single row. Hind coxa wide, 1.3–1.6 × longer than wide, 0.80–0.85 × as long as propodeum. Hind femur 2.8–3.6 × longer than maximum width. Hind tibia dorsally with four-ten distinct spines arranged in single row. Hind tarsus about as long as hind tibia. Hind basitarsus 0.7–0.8 × as long as second-fifth segments combined. Second segment of hind tarsus 0.45–0.50 × as long as basitarsus, 1.2–1.5 × longer than fifth segment (without pretarsus).
Metasoma 1.1–1.3 × longer than head and mesosoma combined. First tergite with small dorsope, without spiracular tubercles, spiracles situated in basal 0.30–0.35, tergite weakly and linearly widened from base to subapex, but almost parallel-sided in apical 0.2–0.3. Acrosternite of first segment 0.30–0.35 × as long as tergite. Maximum width of first tergite 1.6–1.8 × its minimum width; length 1.7–2.4 × its apical width, 1.5–1.7 × length of propodeum. Second tergite with lateral obtuse carinae distinctly divergent posteriorly and fused with rather distinctly broken parts of second suture. Median length of tergite 0.8–1.2 × its basal width, 1.7–2.5 × length of third tergite. Second suture shallow and narrow, curved medially, with weak lateral bends. Laterotergites separated on second and at least basal half of third tergites. Ovipositor sheath 0.45–0.70 × as long as body, 0.8–1.3 × as long as metasoma, 1.5–2.1 × longer than mesosoma, 0.7–1.0 × as long as fore wing.
Sculpture and pubescence. Vertex densely and distinctly granulate, transverse ridge between ocelli very densely and small granulate; frons granulate in posterior half and rugose-granulate with striation in anterior half. Face almost entirely coarsely and densely longitudinally curvedly striate with fine granulation between striae, sometimes rugose medially; temple densely and finely granulate-coriaceous, finely coriaceous to smooth below. Mesoscutum very densely and small punctate-granulate, rugulose-striate or rugulose-reticulate laterally and on median lobe, often only granulate medially on all lobes, rugose or rugulose with long median carina in narrow medioposterior half. Scutellum densely and finely granulate-coriaceous or granulate-punctate. Mesopleuron densely granulate-reticulate and partly with striation in upper half, coriaceous to smooth in lower half. Propodeum without delineated areas or sometimes with incompletely delineated large areola, densely rugose-reticulate with granulation, in wide basolateral parts densely granulate and partly with fine rugulosity posteriorly; dorsal carina developed in basal half. Hind coxae densely granulate and usually with small reticulation in upper half, finely granulate to coriaceous in lower half. Hind femur densely and finely granulate-coriaceous almost entirely. First tergite densely rugulose-reticulate, longitudinally striate in medioapical 0.3–0.4. Second tergite widely regularly and densely longitudinally striate, with fine reticulation between striae, densely and finely or very finely granulate or granulate-coriaceous in narrow lateral areas. Remainder tergites usually finely or very finely to almost indistinctly coriaceous in basal halves and almost smooth in apical halves. Vertex with dense short semi-erect pale setae, sometimes glabrous medioanteriorly. Mesoscutum entirely with very dense, short and semi-erect pale setae. Hind tibiae dorsally with rather short, dense and semi-erect setae, its length 0.5–0.7 × maximum width of tibia.
Colour. Body yellow to brownish yellow or (rarely) light brown, frons and ocellar triangle, dorsum of mesosoma, sometimes upper parts of mesosomal sides and first tergite infuscate or all body dorsally infuscate. Antenna yellow to brownish yellow in basal fifth or third, brown to dark brown on rest part. Palpi pale yellow or yellow. Legs yellow and partly brownish yellow or brownish yellow to light reddish brown, hind leg sometimes almost entirely reddish brown. Ovipositor sheath light brown or brown, black apically. Fore wing faintly or very faintly infuscate. Pterostigma brown, yellow in basal 0.25–0.30 and in apical 0.25.
Male. Body length 2.5–3.5 mm; fore wing length 1.7–2.3 mm. Transverse diameter of eye (dorsal view) 1.00– 1.15 × as long as temple. Antenna 22–30-segmented. Distance from nervulus to basal vein 0.5–0.8 × nervulus length. In hind wing, distal half of second costal abscissa with wide stigma-like enlargement; second mediocubital abscissa submedially without tubercle and oblique vein. Hind femur 2.4–2.6 × longer than maximum width. Otherwise similar to female.
Distribution. Madagascar, * Senegal, * Djibouti, * Saudi Arabia, * Yemen.
Comparative diagnosis. This species belongs to the morphological group with short second metasomal tergite (together with D. rubrotestaceus (Granger) and D. africanus Brues ) and very similar to D. rubrotestaceus . Differences between these species are showed in the key below.
