Doryctophasmus africanus Brues, 1926 View in CoL
Doryctophasmus africanus Brues, 1926: 206 View in CoL ; Shenefelt & Marsh, 1976: 1375; Yu et al., 2012.
Distribution. South Africa (“Zululand”).
Remarks. Unfortunately, single specimen (holotype) of D. africanus is possibly lost. On the other hand, detailed description of this species by Ch. Brues (1926) allow to understand its relation with two other Afrotropical species described by C. Granger (1949) from Madagascar and the most closely to D. ferrugineus (Granger) . However, only study of the holotype or conspecific material of this species collected in the South Africa can give opportunity to state final opinion about status of these taxa.
