Distribution. Native. Nearctic, Neotropical; Galápagos: Isabela, Santa Cruz, Santiago.
Remarks. This species is a parasite of diurnal birds of prey ( Bequaert 1933) and has been collected off Buteo galapagoensis (Gould) in the Galápagos ( Bequaert 1933; Whiteman et al. 2006, 2007).
