zumbadoi Capellari View in CoL
Chrysotus zumbadoi Capellari, 2015: 329 View in CoL . Runyon & Capellari 2018: 585 View Cited Treatment [records].
Distribution. Introduced. Neotropical; Galápagos: Santa Cruz.
Remarks. Males have very long palpi and numerous specimens were discovered in Malaise trap samples collected from Los Gemelos in 2014. This region of Santa Cruz has been regularly surveyed and this was the first discovery of this odd species ( Runyon & Capellari 2018). For this reason, the species is considered a recent introduction. A related species, C. longipalpus Aldrich has been introduced into Hawaii ( Englund 2002). This species was not included in the key to species of Galápagos Dolichopodidae in Bickel & Sinclair (1997).
