Distribution. Endemic. Galápagos: Floreana, Isabela, Pinta, San Cristóbal, Santa Cruz.
Remarks. Adults of this species were collected in the pampa zone surrounding Sierra Negra on Isabela. Adults have been observed visiting flowers of Miconia ( Boada 2005) .
Curran (1934: 155) listed an undetermined species of Xanthandrus from Pinta. Unfortunately, this specimen could not be found to confirm its identity. Hence, whether this undetermined specimen was truly Xanthandrus or Argentinomyia agonis remains unknown.
