Distribution. Not determined; Galápagos: San Cristóbal.
Remarks. This species is believed to have been introduced with agricultural products in 1989 and is presently found in large numbers in La Toma and other streams (Abedrabbo et al. 1993; Gerecke et al. 1995). This species reportedly bites human ( Crosskey & Shelley 1994). This blackfly is only permanently established on San Cristóbal, but during the 1998 El Niño event, it became temporarily established on three other islands ( Roque-Albelo & Causton 1999).
