Distribution. Native. Neotropical; Galápagos: San Cristóbal.
Remarks. This species has been collected in arid zones and dry Scalesia forest ( Jaschhof 2004). This formerly endemic genus and species, along with two additional species, have since been described from Brazil ( Carmo-Neto et al. 2021).
