This is one of the most widely distributed species of the genus, occurring from Canada to Argentina in the Americas, as well as in the Hawaiian Islands where it was introduced ( Gagné & Howarth 1975, Cordeiro & Moreira 2015). The first records from French Guiana are presented here.
