Lyricibracon bicolorus Quicke View in CoL
( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 )
Lyricibracon bicolorus Quicke, 1988: 414 View in CoL .
Diagnosis. Median flagellomeres longer than wide. Scapus rather narrow, shorter ventrally than dorsally in lateral aspect. First flagellomere 1.2× longer than both second and third flagellomeres respectively. Height of clypeus: inter-tentorial distance: tentorio-ocular distance= 5: 7: 4. Height of eye: width of face: width of head = 17: 15: 25. Distance between posterior ocelli: diameter of posterior ocellus: shortest distance between posterior ocellus and eye = 6: 9: 16. Face predominantly transverse corrugated or with intricate sculpture ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 A). Mesosoma 1.25× longer than high. Notauli distinct along whole length of mesoscutum. Mesoscutum densely and evenly setose, smooth and shiny between punctures at bases of setae ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 B). Scutellar sulcus wide and coarsely crenulate. Mesopleuron and mesosternum setose and rather coarsely sculptured. Median area of metanotum with a complete mid-longitudinal carina. Metapleuron densely setose, with a small, mid-lateral, ventral flange. Propodeum smooth posteriorly, glabrous with a complete, lamelliform, mid-longitudinal carina and with distinct sub-lateral carinae running from postero-lateral margin to above spiracle. Second submarginal cell of fore wing moderately long and virtually parallel sided. Length of vein SR1: 3-SR: r = 25: 16: 7. Length of vein m-cu: 2-SR + M = 11: 8. Vein cu-a interstitial. Length of fore femur: tibia: tarsus = 20: 21: 25. Length of hind femur: tibia: basitarsus= 27: 34: 14. Hind basitarsus approximately 7.1× as long as wide. First metasomal tergite with complete, lamelliform, dorsolateral carinae. Tergites 2–6 largely with coarse rugose sculpture ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 C). Second metasomal tergite without a mid-basal area, with a number of strong, longitudinal striae anteriorly. Second metasomal suture crenulate. Metasomal tergites 3–5 with a transverse, crenulate, sub-posterior groove. Posterior margin of sixth metasomal tergite medially straight, but with a pair of semicircular lateral emarginations resulting in rather pointed posterolateral corners ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 D). Ovipositor without pre-apical dorsal nodus and ventral serrations.
Colour. Body largely black except following ivory white: scapus dorsally, clypeus, face broadly mediodorsally, frons and anterior of temples except near stemmaticum, pronotum narrowly dorsally, mid lobe of mesoscutum posteriorly, tegula, scutellum, metanotum medially, fore leg, mid leg except tarsus, hind coxa and trochanter, first and second metasomal tergites, third tergite narrowly medially, anteriorly and posteriorly, broadly laterally, tergites 4–6 posteriorly and laterally, and metasomal sternites.
Male. Unknown.
Distribution. Brunei (Temburong).
Host. Unknown.
