Artbeschreibung: Ähnlich wie C. albiflorus , aber bis 30 cm hoch, Blüten hellviolett, mit dunkleren oder helleren Nerven, die 3 Narbenschenkel stark verlängert und aus der Blüte heraushängend, nach vorn verdickt, bis über 2 cm lang, leuchtend orangerot.
Blütezeit: 9-11
Standort und Verbreitung in der Schweiz: Als Gewürzpflanze angebaut (verwendet werden nur die Narben) / VS (Mund u.a.)
Verbreitung global: Stammt aus dem östlichen Mittelmeergebiet
