Stizocera meinerti View in CoL ; Gounelle, 1907: 242.

Stizocera tricolor Gounelle, 1909: 644 View in CoL .

Remarks. Aurivillius (1900) describe Periboeum meinerti based on a single specimen from Venezuela (Caracas). Later, Gounelle (1900) described Stizocera tricolor based on syntypes from Brazil (Bahia, Goiás, Minas Gerais). Martins & Napp (1983) synonymized the latter with the former.

Currently, it is known from Venezuela (Distrito Federal), Brazil (Roraima, Rondônia, Mato Grosso, Goiás, Maranhão, Paraíba, Piauí, Rio Grande do Norte, Bahia, Minas Gerais, and São Paulo), Bolivia (Santa Cruz), and Paraguay ( Monné 2024a; Tavakilian & Chevillotte 2023). Zajciw (1966) recorded this species from the Brazilian state of Ceará, which was not listed in Monné (2024a).

Material examined. BRAZIL, Mato Grosso do Sul (new state record): Campo Grande , CNPGC [Centro Nacional de Pesquisas de Gado de Corte—EMBRAPA], 1 male (MNRJ-ENT-47636), 03.XI.1976, W.W. Koller leg. ( MNRJ) .
