Type Locality: Sri Lanka, Central Province, near Nuwara Eliya, Hakgala.

Vernacular Names: Pearson's Long-clawed Shrew.

Distribution: C highlands of Sri Lanka.

Conservation: IUCN – Endangered.

Discussion: A very little known species that inhabits "virgin forest" in the mountains of C Sri Lanka ( Phillips, 1980).
