Paratype: 1 female, same labels as in holotype ( ZISP); 2 females, “ New Zealand ND, Omahutu SF, 15 Jul. 1974, G. Kuschel", "in Agathis australis " ( NZAC); 1 female, “ New Zealand ND, Omahutu SF, 8 May 1974, G. Kuschel & G.W. Ramsay", "in Mystacina guano 2nd bat tree" ( NZAC)

Description. Female. Body length 2.3–2.8 mm; fore wing length 2.0– 2.6 mm.

Head width 1.4–1.5 × median length (dorsal view), almost equal to width of metasoma. Head behind eyes (dorsal view) roundly narrowed; transverse diameter of eye 0.85–0.90 × as long as temple (dorsal view). POL 1.4– 2.0 × Od, 0.3–0.4 × OOL; Od 0.2–0.3 × OOL. Eye 1.25–1.30 × as high as broad. Malar space 0.5 × as high as eye, a1most equal to basal width of mandible. Face width 1.2–1.3 × eye height and 1.25–1.40 × height of face and clypeus combined. Clypeus without flange along lower margin, distinctly inclined ventrally. Hypoclypeal depression wide, oval, its width 1.1–1.2 × distance from depression to eye, 0.45–0.50 × width of face. Tentorial pits small. Head strongly and roundly narrowed below eyes (front view).

Antenna thickened, short, almost moniliform, about 0.6 × as long as body. Scape weakly curved, 2.3–2.7 × longer than wide, 2.7–2.8 × longer than pedicel. First flagellar segment straight, thickened, 1.8–2.5 × longer than its maximal width, 1.2–1.4 × longer than second segment. Subapical segments 1.6–1.8 × longer than their width, 0.8–0.9 × as long as apical segment.

Mesosoma. Length 1.6–1.7 × its height. Prescutellar depression medially 0.2–0.3 × as long as scutellum. Scutellum 0.8–0.9 × as long as its anterior width. Subalar depression coarsely rugose-striate. Furrow before mesometapleural suture deep, densely, rather finely and shortly crenulated.

Wing. Length of fore wing 2.7–3.2 × its maximum width. Pterostigma 2.9–3.2 × longer than width, 0.7–0.9 × as long as metacarp (R1a). Length of first radial abscissa (r) 0.7–0.9 × maximum width of pterostigma. First radial abscissa (r) 0.15–0.18 × as long as second abscissa (3RSa +3RSb). First radiomedial vein (2RS) 1.7–2.0 × longer than first radial abscissa (r), 2.0–2.4 × longer than recurrent vein (1m-cu). Recurrent vein (1m-cu) 0.3–0.4 × as long as second abscissa of basal vein (1M). First medial abscissa ((RS+M)a) weakly curved. Discoidal (first discal) cell 1.3–1.5 × longer than its maximum width, 1.3–1.4 × longer than brachial (first subdiscal) cell. Distance between nervulus (1cu-a) and basal vein (1M) about 0.5 × nervulus (1cu-a) length. Hind wing 3.5–4.0 × longer than wide. Recurrent vein (m-cu) weakly postfurcal or antefurcal.

Legs. Hind femur 4.0–4.4 × longer than maximum width. Hind tarsus 0.80–0.85 × as long as hind tibia. Second tarsal segment short, 0.30–0.35 × as long as basitarsus, 0.7–0.9 × as long as fifth segment (without pretarsus).

Metasoma 1.5–1.8 × longer than its maximum width, 1.1–1.3 × longer than mesosoma. Length of first tergite 0.7–0.8 × its apical width; apical width 1.2–1.4 × its width at level of spiracles, 2.5–3.1 × basal width. Length of second and third tergites combined 0.90–1.05 × basal width of second tergite, 0.7–0.8 × their maximum width. Following tergites not strongly or weakly protruding behind third tergite. Ovipositor sheath 0.7–0.8 × as long as metasoma, 0.85–1.10 × as long as mesosoma, 0.4–0.7 × as long as fore wing.

Sculpture and pubescence. Head entirely densely rugose-reticulate, malar space weakly rugulose. Mesoscutum entirely rugose-reticulate, scutellum entirely rugulose-reticulate. Mesopleuron entirely or mainly densely and rather coarsely rugose-reticulate with small median almost smooth area. Propodeum densely rugulose and partly with striation, postero-laterally sparsely rugose, with areas delineated by high coarse carinae, areola long and rather narrow or sometimes wide, 1.4–1.8 × longer than maximum width, basal carina short to very short, 0.1–0.5 × as long as anterior fork of areola. Hind coxa densely rugose-reticulate, finer in lower half, dorsally additionally with distinct transverse striation. Hind femur entirely densely rugose-reticulate with granulation. First tergite entirely and densely striate, with additional distinct and dense reticulation between striae. Second and third tergites often basally rugulose, sometimes with fine transverse striation or only coriaceous, then finely and densely reticulatecoriaceus medially till at least middle of combined tergites. Remaining tergites smooth. Vertex evenly clothed in rather dense, long, almost erect to semi-erect and curved white setae. Mesoscutum evenly clothed in rather dense, long semi-erect to almost straight white setae. Hind tibia on dorsal side with long, rather dense, semi-erect yellowish setae; length of these setae 0.8–1.3 × maximum width of hind tibia.

Colour. Body mainly black, rarely mesosoma with distinct reddish tint, metasoma behind first tergite reddishbrown or rarely dark reddish-brown. Palpi pale yellow or yellow. Antenna reddish-brown or light brown, sometimes darkened towards apex. Legs yellowish-brown or light reddish-brown, hind coxa reddish-brown or dark reddish-brown. Ovipositor sheath brown or dark brown. Fore wing rather evenly infuscate, with more distinct brownish areas around veins. Pterostigma brown or dark brown, sometimes paler along margins.
