Specimens examined. 3 ♀, emerged from cone of Picea orientalis View in CoL collected by R. Erdem on 28 December 1955 from Trabzon–Meryemana , Turkey, B.M.1956–432 ( BMNH) ; 2 ♀ and 1 ♂, emerged on 27 May 1990 from a cone of Picea jezoensis View in CoL collected by K. Kamijo from Asahikawa , Hokkaido, Japan ( HUM) .
Distribution. Japan (Hokkaido); Holarctic.
Host information. Torymus caudatus is known as a parasitoid of Kaltenbachiola strobi (Winnertz) in Europe ( Graham & Gijswijt 1998). This species parasitizes an unidentified species of Cecidomyiidae (Diptera) that induces galls on Picea jezoensis (Siebold et Zucc.) Carrière (Pinaceae) in Japan ( Grissell et al. 2004).
