( Figs 12 A–C View FIGURE 12 A – C )
Rheocricotopus (Rheocricotopus) togapeniculus Sasa & Okazawa, 1992: 104 View in CoL ; Ashe & O’Connor 2012: 572.
Material examined. Holotype, male, Toga-Mura, Toyama Prefecture, Honshu, Japan. 27. IV. 1990. (No. 181: 29).
Diagnostic characters. The species can be separated from other East Asian members of the genus by laterosternite IX with 6 long setae, anal point with 2 long lateral setae on each side and many basal long microtrichia, inferior volsella double-layered, gonostylus without crista dorsalis.
Additional description and corrections. Based on the analysis of holotype material, the examined characters were consistent with the original description, but some additional characters should be added: Total length / wing length 1.6. Wing length / length of profemur 2.6. Tentorium 130 µm long, 30 µm wide. Palpomeres length (in µm): 30, 65, 133, 138, 240. Palpomere 2 ellipsoid, 3 rectangular, 4 and 5 long and slender, Palpomeres 5/3: 1.8. Laterosternite IX with 6 long setae. Anal point 40 µm long, basal wide 20 µm, peak wide 3 µm, with 2 long lateral setae on each side and many basal long microtrichia. Transverse sternapodeme 120 µm long, with oral projections. Gonocoxite 188 µm long. Gonostylus 70 µm long, without crista dorsalis. Megaseta 15 µm long. HR 2.7, HV 4.0. The hypopygium and wing of holotype are re-drawn as in Figs 12 A–C View FIGURE 12 A – C .
Distribution. The species occurs in Japan (Palaearctic Region).
