Ex Colinus virginianus (northern bobwhite): NC, Haywood Co., Big Creek, 25 May 1959, Unknown. Colinus virginianus is the type host for M. pricei ( Price et al. 2003) and is infested with this louse in the southeastern USA ( Doster et al. 1980).
