Etymology:—The epithet is derived from the name of mycologist Alan J.L. Phillips, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Caparica, Portugal who has done extensive work and contributed to the knowledge of order Botryosphaeriales .
Diagnosis:—Pycnidia long neck-like with ridges and groove, prominent papillate at the tip, multilocular with individual opening. Spermatia small, <10 μm, cylindrical.
