Body epsilon-shaped with widest regions at level of pharynx and reproductive system. Ambulatory setae slender, straight or bent, arranged in four to five longitudinal rows in anterior half of posterior body region; pre- and postvulvar in females but only one or two pairs of setae being posterior to vulva (none in Epsilonema meunierorum Decraemer & Gourbault, 1987 , and Epsilonema oodamphis Decraemer & Gourbault, 1987 ).
524 D. LEDUC AND Z. ZHAO
Supporting setae present. Rostrum with eight subcephalic setae (six in Epsilonema espeeli and Epsilonema lasium and 16 setae at base of head in Epsilonema enigmaticum ). Amphideal fovea spiral, cryptospiral, or almost circular, with possible sexual dimorphism in size.
Type species
Epsilonema cygnoides (Metschnikoff, 1867)
