Guyalna bonaerensis Boulard & Martinelli 1996: 20.

Type locality. Buenos Aires, Santa Fé and Entre Rios Provinces, Argentina and Uruguay.

Remarks. The type species of Guyalna ( Boulard & Martinelli 1996) , the species has an expanded timbal cover ( Fig. 5 ) covering most of the timbal cavity. It can be found in large numbers in the Chaco and Espinal floristic provinces in Argentina ( Sanborn et al. 2011; Sanborn & Heath 2014). It has a similar morphology to G. flavipronotum n. comb. There may be related yet undiscovered species between the known distributions of these species. Body length 29–37 mm, fore wing length 37–43 mm.

Distribution. The species has been reported previously from Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay ( Metcalf 1963; Duffels & van der Laan 1985; Sanborn 2011b; 2013; Sanborn & Heath 2014).
