Chrotomys mindorensis Kellogg 1945 View in CoL
Chrotomys mindorensis Kellogg 1945 View in CoL , Proc. Biol. Soc. Wash., 58: 123.
Type Locality: Philipines, Mindoro Isl, 3 mi (5 km) SSE of San Jose (Central), 200 ft (61 m).
Vernacular Names: Lowland Chrotomys.
Distribution: Lowlands (sea level to 1000 m) of N Luzon and Mindoro ( Heaney et al., 1998).
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: Considered specifically distinct from C. whiteheadi by Musser et al. (1982 b). Larger series and analyses of both morphological and molecular data are needed to test the hypothesis that the populations on Mindoro (Greater Mindoro Faunal Region) and Luzon (Greater Luzon Faunal Region) represent the same species.
