Notes:— Wight (1837) described Impatiens modesta on the basis of specimens collected from Shevagerry hills. Four specimens of this species collected by Wight were traced, two at K (K000694890 and K000694891) and one each at M (M0211752) and NY (NY6761). The best one, K000694891, is designated here as the lectotype as it agrees well with the protologue and also in having dissected flower parts pasted on the sheet by J.D. Hooker.
