Material examined (N=1). 1f, 07/VIII/2005, St. 0 8 ( MZUESC #685).

Distribution. Western Atlantic – east coast of the United States, Antilles, northern South America, and Brazil (from Amapá to Rio Grande do Sul) ( Melo 1996; Santos et al. 2000).

Ecological notes. Estuarine species, more common in low-salinity waters. Also in polluted waters. Shallow waters to 20 m ( Melo 1996).
