TYPE LOCALITY: Chile, Magallanes, Bahia de San Gregorio .

DISTRIBUTION: Extreme S Chile and S Argentina.

STATUS: Reduced in numbers by sheep grazing.

SYNONYMS: dicki, fueginus, fodax, neglectus, osgoodi; robustus J. A. Allen, 1903 .

COMMENTS: The chromosome no. is 2n=34-36.
