TYPE SPECIES: Kerodon moco Lesson, 1827 (= Cavia rupestris Wied, 1820 ).

SYNONYMS: Cerodon .

COMMENTS: Reviewed by Hückinghaus (1961). The name Kerodon acrobata was used by Mares and Ojeda (1982) for a second species in Brazil, although I can find no formal description of this species.
