Lectotype (Garbari & Cecchi in Jarvis & Turland in Taxon 47: 368. 1998): Herb. Linn. No. 998.15 ( LINN) .

Generitype of Solidago Linnaeus (vide Green, Prop. Brit. Bot.:. 181. 1929).

Current name: Solidago virgaurea L. View in CoL ( Asteraceae ).

Note: Nesom (in Phytologia 75: 16. 1993) provided some notes on the material in LINN but did not designate a type.
