Type-locality: Panama,El Maria, Panama,Cerro Campana.

Geographical distribution: Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Colombia.

Additional note: Species belongs to the sanguinaria series. Specimen listed as a suspect vector of Leishmania panamensis (Akhoundi et al., 2017) .
