Neocychrus behrensi Roeschke, 1907a: 199. Type locality: "Riesennadelholzwaldungen (= redwood cañon) im nördlichen Sonoma Co[unty], Californien" (original citation). Holotype [by monotypy] (♂) in ZMUA (Boer 2002: 32).
Scaphinotus behrensi malkini Van Dyke, 1944: 13. Type locality: "Spenser Butte, near Eugene [Lane County], Oregon" (original citation). Holotype (♂) in CAS [# 5345]. Synonymy established by Gidaspow (1973: 61).
Distribution.
The range of this species extends near the Pacific Coast from Lincoln County in Oregon (Gidaspow 1973: 61) to Humboldt County in northern California [see Gidaspow 1973: Fig. 1].
