Notes
This species is only known from the state of Texas within the United States, though it ranges south through México and in Central America to Costa Rica ( Hurd and Linsley 1964, Ayala and Griswold 2012). Unlike the closely related Peponapis pruinosa (Say), which is a ground nester, P. crassidentata nests in bare vertical banks of sandy soil ( Delgado-Carrillo et al. 2017). One single male specimen was collected in a blue vane trap located on the edge of a soybean field in Sharkey County Mississippi (Fig. 8).
