Diagnosis based on molecular characters: Characterized by unambiguous synapomorphies for COI in seven positions, for 12S rRNA in 26 positions, for 16S rRNA in 14 positions and for 18S rRNA in a single position. For morphological diagnostic features see Costa et al. (2018).
Distribution: Neotropical region.
Type-species: Epiperipatus edwardsii (Blanchard, 1847) , by original designation.
