Key to the species of Tuponia View in CoL View at ENA of Romania and neighboring countries

As a result of this study, a total of 5 species of Tuponia were confirmed to occur in Romania, as detailed in the updated checklist of Table 1. In the table these species are listed together with all the species of Tuponia known to occur also in the neighboring countries. Two species which were never recorded from Romania but may be found in the country with more sampling efforts were also added in the species key: Tuponia (Chlorotuponia) brevirostris Reuter, 1883 and Tuponia (Tuponia) mixticolor (A. Costa, 1862) . In order to facilitate their identification, we provide photos of habitus and illustrations of the male genitalia ( Figs. 10 View FIGURE 10 and 11 View FIGURE 11 , respectively).

In the use of the following key, it should be noted that the dorsal green color tends to fade and turn yellowish in dry specimens. A reliable identification of the species of Tuponia s. str. should be based on the examination of male genitalia.
