( Figs. 52–53 View FIGUIRE 52 View FIGUIRE 53 )
Diagnosis. K. saltensis can be distinguished from other species of Kramerana by its size (male, 3.3–3.7 mm), pygofer with distinct posteroventral tooth, subgenital plate relatively slender and triangular in shape, aedeagus with broad base and with narrow shaft arising posterodorsally from base, aedeagus posteroventral corner rounded and not distinctly angled or projecting, shaft of aedeagus gradually bent anterad throughout its length, and aedeagus apex flanges extending laterally on an even plane with shaft, not extending ventrad beyond normal curve of aedeagus in lateral view.
Body. Male, 3.3–3.7 mm.
Color. As in genus description.
Male. Pygofer posteriorly with 3–5 short thick setae; posteriorly with numerous very short thin setae; ventral margin undulate; posteroventral corner forming a tooth. Subgenital plate relatively narrow, triangular; without macrosetae. Style preapical lobe roundedly pointed; apophysis long, digitate, texture tuberculate, reticulate. Aedeagus base posteroventral margin smoothly rounded; shaft continuously curving dorsally and anteriorly from base; apical margins flared, forming flanges, with minute teeth apically in caudal view. Phragma with small boat-shaped sclerotized structure articulating with dorsal rim of aedeagal base, with dorsal corners articulating caudally with setose hemispheric bulbs; bulbs articulated laterally with long lanceolate plate reaching anterodorsally to interior rim of pygofer.
Female. Unknown.
Material examined. HOLOTYPE: 1♂, ARGENTINA, Salta, El Pucara Empalme , 8km SW Cerrillos, 1315m, 7-I-1974, Frank A. Anders [ USNM] . PARATYPES: 13♂, same data [ USNM] .
Etymology. The species name refers to the Argentinian province where the species is found.
Distribution. This species is known from Argentina (Salta Prov.). It is the first record of the genus from Argentina.
Remarks. The coloration on the available specimens appears faded and yellowish, and the internal tissues are separated from the integument. The coloration on freshly captured or quickly dried specimens may differ from that shown in images here.
