Duftfarn
Meist kleine, bis zu 20 cm hohe Farne. Rhizom kriechend, dicht beblättert. Blattspreite 2-4fach gefiedert. Sori randständig, sich oft berührend, vom umgerollten Blattrand ± verdeckt, mit oder ohne Schleier.
Die Gattung Cheilänthes umfaβt etwa 100 Arten, die in den Tropen und Subtropen verbreitet sind. Im Mediterrangebiet Europas 2 Arten. Ch. fragrans berührt das Gebiet der Flora im Süden. Chromosomengrundzahlen n = 29, 30 (vgl. Fabbri 1963).
