Distribution in Brazil. Amazonas *, Maranhão, Pará.
Remarks. This species was recently recorded for Brazil by Oliveira-da-Silva et al. (2006), who reared more than 100 specimens from pig carcasses in Manaus ( Amazonas). These authors also reported some females, but we were not able to locate these specimens. Thus, the female remains undescribed. Like Oliveira-da-Silva et al. (2006), we have occasionally collected this species in the Brazilian Amazon in traps baited with bovine lung. It appears to be closely associated with forested environments.
