Type (neotype designated by Molau 1988: 251):— BOLIVIA. Cochabamba: Prov. Quillacollo, SE slopes of Cerro Tunari , between Quillacollo and Morochata, 3300–3500 m, 10 March 1983, Molau 691 (S, GB, LPB, not seen) .

Annual or perennial herb, 24–80 cm tall, stems succulent, greenish. Leaves petiolate; petioles 1.4–3.5 cm long, without nodal wing; lamina ovate to elliptic, 5.1–8.1 × 3–4.2 cm, laciniate to lobate, margins dentate. Sepals ovate to lanceolate, 6–6.2 × 3–5 mm, green. Corolla pale yellow, 12–17 × 15–18 mm; stamens with upper theca 1.8–2.2 mm long, lower theca 1.3–1.7 mm long, connective 0.4–1 mm long, without dorsal protuberance. Capsules globose, 5–6 mm long.

Distribution: —Endemic to the department of Cochabamba in Bolivia between 2300–3600 m.
