Distribution.
Natural history.
In SK, 2 males were captured from a sheep barn window, and one male was found in compost. SK specimens were collected in March, April, July and September. In New Brunswick, Aleochara villosa was collected from the nest contents of a great horned owl, Bubo virginianus (Gmelin) ( Webster et al. 2009). Elsewhere, specimens have been collected from carrion and sifting an old hay pile ( Klimaszewski 1984). Adults were collected in May. Collection method: sifting.
