Mycetoporus punctipennis SCRIBA, 1868 View in CoL
Mycetoporus insulanus LUZE, 1901: 693 View in CoL ; syn. nov.
Mycetoporus insulanus View in CoL was described based on a male holotype labelled “Corfu Reitter / insulanus View in CoL m. det. Luze / TYPUS / insulanus View in CoL / Holotypus ♂ Mycetoporus insulanus Luze View in CoL / Mycetoporus punctipennis Scriba View in CoL det. M. Schülke 2017” deposited in the collections of the NHMW. The holotype had been examined and dissected by M. Kocian (Prague). The internal structures of the aedeagus are identical to those of Mycetoporus punctipennis View in CoL , a widespread Ponto-Mediterranean species with pronounced variability of elytral length, elytral chaetotaxy, and microsculpture. Therefore, M. insulanus View in CoL is synonymized with M. punctipennis View in CoL .
