Diagnosis. Species of medium to small size (3.6–5.7 mm), distinguished by sparse, transparent scales and setae, hardly visible on shiny, black integument.

Redescription. Body moderately elongate. Dorsal vestiture of sparse, appressed, barely differentiated scales and setae, transparent and hardly visible on the black, shiny integument, more evident and denser near elytral apex. Head with sides convergent from temples to pterygia. Rostrum weakly transverse or subquadrate, epistome notched, epistomal keel present; pterygia evident; prorostrum a little narrower than metarostrum, with a deep longitudinal sulcus extending usually to frontal fovea. Frons rather narrow, hardly wider than metarostrum. Eyes normal, subsphaerical, not projecting beyond genae. Antennae with scape moderately robust, usually incrassate from base to apex, funicle robust, first desmomere not or hardly wider than second, desmomeres 2–7 not or hardly progressively widened, at least desmomeres 6 and 7 flattened at apex, 7 without wider setae; club narrow, first segment widely cup-shaped. Pronotum transverse, base more or less as wide as apex, sides rounded or a little sinuate, disc with double punctation, moderately dense. Elytra elongate ovoid, sides not very rounded, humeral calli more (male) or less (female) obsolete, striae with marked punctures and interstriae flat to weakly convex. Legs with tibiae moderately robust, protibiae with outer margin widely curved, flared before apex, metatibiae with a series of more (male) or less (female) developed teeth on inner margin. Aedeagus and endophallic structures characteristic of the genus; see under G. mononychus .

Distribution. Trans-Pyrenean (new record for Spain): southern France (Hérault, Ariège, Aude, Pyrénées- Orientales, Hautes-Pyrénées) and north-eastern Spain (Catalonia) (type locality: Corbières, Aude, France).

Material examined ( Fig. 70). Spain: Lérida: Alt Urgell, Serra del Boumort, m. 1500, 20. V.02, leg. Gourvés ( GOU: 1 spec.); do., 1800 a 2000 m., 30.IX.52 , F. Español leg. (MBA); Montsec de Rubíes , Hostal Roig, 19.XI.67 , F. Español leg. (MBA); Orgañá [= Organyá], V .61, Vilella leg. ( GON).
