Etymology: Latin, nitidum means neat, elegant.
Female: Integument dark brown. Pubescence predominantly pale grayish; pubescence dark brown: distal ¼ of the antennomeres III-VI; pronotum with a longitudinal narrow line each side of the middle and two interrupted stripes on the sides. Each elytron with three spots in the basal third, one in the humeri, other “U” form in the middle and another in the lateral margin, in the distal half several longitudinal stripes, three in the anterior part and others near the apex. Ventral surface of the femora, extreme base and distal third of the tibiae and tarsi covered with dark brown pubescence Ventral surface of the body covered with grayish pubescence.
Antennae at least three times the length of the body, reaching the apex of the elytra in the distal extremity of antennomere VI; antennomere XI two times the length of th X. Prothorax with a proeminent lateral acute tubercle in the beginning of the posterior third. Pronotum with a single transverse line of punctures near the posterior margin. Elytral apices obliquely truncate, external angle with an obtuse spine. Surface with three longitudinal lines of minute punctures in the basal half.
Metatarsome I slightly longer than II+III. Ovipositor projected 2,0 mm beyond the elytral apices, urotergite V acute; urosternite V transversely truncate at apex.
Measurements (mm), female: Total length, 8,6; prothorax length, 1,6; prothorax width, 2,5; elytral length, 6,4; humeral width, 3,0.
Type material: Holotype female, FRENCH GUIANA, Piste Coralie , pk 10, 02.VIII.1997, Marc Thouvenot col. (piégeage lumineux, ex collection IRD number 504, MNHN).
Comments: The distinctive pattern of coloration and arrangement of patches allow us to identify the species.
