M. phoebe tungana Seitz, 1909 View in CoL

[TL: Russian Federation, Tuva, Sajan (or Sayan) Mountains] uppersides of a male and female were figured by Seitz (plate 65, figs h 6 & 7). www.funet.fi (accessed 26.10.2020), however, gives a photograph (© Smirnov) of both upper and undersides of a female of this subspecies from Tuva, West of the Ujukskiy Mountains (1000m), 11–20 July 2003, from the underside of which the typical characters of M. phoebe can be seen; thus the authors consider this to be a subspecies of M. phoebe . This agrees with van Oorschot & Coutsis (2014: 60) and Russell &Tennent (2016: 55, note 94).
