M. phoebe var. aetherea Eversmann, 1851 View in CoL
[TL: Southern Russian Federation] is considered by the authors to be a lightly marked but brightly coloured variety M. phoebe with reduced black markings on both wing surfaces. This nomenclatural association agrees with those of Higgins (1941: 331, plate 14, fig. 9), Tshikolovets (2011: 497), van Oorschot & Coutsis (2014: 60) and Russell & Tennent (2016: 43, note 9), with which the present authors agree.
