Synonyms.

Habitat and range.
Open forests and steppe, in light, well-drained to heavier soils. Range of the subspecies (Fig. 2B View Figure 2 ), but mostly absent from west side of the Sierra Nevada and westward. Collected once in New Mexico ( Soreng 1985).
Chromosome numbers.
Numbers reported as P. nevadensis : 2 n = 62 (x2), 62-63, 63 (x7), 64, 64-66 (x2), ≈ 65, 70.
