Type Locality: "Der mittleren und tiefen Waldregion;" interpreted by Cabrera (1958:16) as Perú, Junín, "Montaña de Vitoc, cerca de Chanchamayo." .
Vernacular Names: Tschudi's Slender Opossum.
Synonyms: Marmosops albiventris (Tate 1931) ; Marmosops caucae (Thomas 1900) ; Marmosops celicae (Anthony 1922) ; Marmosops madescens ( Osgood 1913) ; Marmosops ocellata (Tate 1931) ; Marmosops oroensis (Anthony 1922) ; Marmosops purui (Miller 1913) ; Marmosops sobrina (Thomas 1913) ; Marmosops ucayaliensis (Tate 1931) .
Distribution: Darién of Panamá to Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Perú, W Brazil, and E Bolivia.
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (nt).
Discussion: This taxon is too poorly known to assign names to subspecies with confidence.
