Phaestus Jacoby, 1887: 570 View in CoL (type species Phaestus chiriquensis Jacoby, 1887 , by monotypy). Neophaestus Hincks, 1949: 617 (replacement name for Phaestus Jacoby, 1887 View in CoL ).

Remarks

This genus currently includes a single species, N. chiriquensis ( Jacoby, 1887) from Panama. See Fig. 11 View Figs 10–18 for a habitus illustration. Some characteristics, such as the narrow epipleuron, suggest a close relationship with Apteroyinga and Socorroita Bechyné, 1956 .
